The first dance is the highlight of the whole wedding. It’s also a very personal moment. That’s why choosing the first song is a personal matter. The following are just a few tips to make choosing the song for your wedding first dance quick and easy and, above all, fun.1. A long song can be tiring for both you and your guests. For example, ‘All I Want is You’ by U2 is more than 7 minutes long. There’s no problem dancing to short songs as very few are shorter than 2 minutes. The ideal length for a first dance song is around 3 minutes and there are plenty to choose from.2. Being a popular first dance song does not mean its lyrics are always fitting to the wedding occasion. The majority of songs weren’t written with one’s wedding in mind. For example, ‘Angels’ by Robbie Williams is a favourite first song, but if you read its lyrics you’ll come across a passage, ‘And I feel that love is dead, I’m loving angels instead.’3.
